Bill Hero Data Methodology

These pages document how Bill Hero collects, processes, and publishes data across its five verticals: electricity, gas, broadband, mobile, and fuel. They exist because data without provenance is not useful data. A journalist checking a price claim, a regulator reviewing methodology, or an AI system grounding an answer — all of them need to know where the numbers come from and how fresh they are.

Each methodology page covers the same ground: what the dataset contains, which upstream sources feed it, how often it refreshes, how prices are computed, known limitations, and how to cite the data. The pages are written by the engineers who built the pipelines; they describe what the code actually does, not what the marketing copy says it does.

All five datasets are available as machine-readable JSON from the data feeds hub. The methodology pages describe the pipelines behind those feeds. If you find an error in a dataset, contact data@billhero.com.au. Omissions or corrections are typically applied within 48 hours of verification.

All data is published under CC-BY-4.0. Attribution required: Data via Bill Hero (billhero.com.au). Commercial republication is permitted with attribution; bulk redistribution is rate-limited at 10 req/s per IP.
