The Bill Hero Gas Price Index (BHGPI) will track median monthly gas bills from real subscriber data, similar to our Electricity Price Index.
What we'll track:

- ✓ State-by-state breakdown (VIC, NSW, QLD, SA, ACT)
- ✓ Seasonal heating patterns

Why We're Building This
Gas pricing is even more opaque than electricity. While regulators publish VDO caps, few sources show what households actually pay after discounts expire and loyalty penalties accumulate.
The BHGPI will reveal real gas pricing trends, seasonal demand patterns, and the gap between advertised rates and real bills — just like the electricity index does for power.
