About ActewAGL
ActewAGL is the dominant electricity and gas retailer in the ACT and south-east NSW, operating as a 50/50 joint venture between the ACT Government (via Icon Water) and AGL Energy. It runs the government-accredited Greenchoice product (offering 10% to 200% GreenPower), Australia's first public hydrogen refuelling station, and the world-first REVS vehicle-to-grid trial. ActewAGL also offers bundled electricity, gas, and telecommunications services. As the incumbent retailer in the ACT, its market share means ACT customers may have fewer competing offers compared to customers in mainland NEM states.
Bill Hero is an independent comparison service: we list every retailer that publishes pricing through CDR, and we don't take placement fees from ActewAGL or any other retailer. Rates below are sourced from CDR and refreshed daily.

Regulatory Issues
ActewAGL Distribution paid $20,000 in penalties (2015) for failing to provide required information to life support customers at the time of registration. Beyond this, ActewAGL has a relatively clean regulatory record compared to the "big three" retailers.
