About EnergyAustralia
EnergyAustralia is a major integrated energy retailer and generator, supplying over 1.7 million customers across eastern Australia. It is 100% foreign-owned by Hong Kong's CLP Group. Its generation mix is approximately 58% coal, though it has accelerated Yallourn's closure to mid-2028 and is building a 350 MW battery. EnergyAustralia offers GreenPower-accredited PureEnergy plans and a "Go Neutral" carbon-offset product at no extra cost. In 2024, the ACCC commenced proceedings against EnergyAustralia over pricing transparency, and the "Go Neutral" product faced greenwashing allegations in court.
