Regulatory Issues

Enforcement actions recorded against Blue NRG by Australian energy regulators. Sourced from the ESC Victoria Register and AER compliance reports. Updated monthly.

ACCC|Enforceable undertaking

📝 Blue NRG Pty Ltd: Gave the ACCC a court-enforceable undertaking after admitting it made false or misleading representations to 543 business customers on fixed-rate contracts in NSW and Queensland, telling them in November 2022 that it had a legal right to roughly double their electricity prices when the contracts contained no applicable force majeure clause. Following ACCC intervention Blue NRG did not proceed with the increase, withdrew higher invoices, credited affected customers and agreed to compensate those who had already switched providers. The proposed increase would have cost affected small businesses about $5 million in total.
